A friend of yours, Craig, recently upgraded his Windows 2000 desktop computer to Windows XP. Following the installation, Craig attempted to connect to the Internet using his dial-up modem, but he has been unsuccessful.

  • He tells you that it seems as if the modem refuses to work, and he asks you for help. He shares with you that the modem came in the original PC and is a 56K modem by Messenger Computer Company.

Plan your troubleshooting approach by completing the following:

  • Create a list of questions you would need to ask Craig to correctly diagnose the problem.
  • What do you believe is the source of Craig’s problem? Provide details to support your answer.
